Stay Strong

It’s a crazy time out there! Over the last couple of months, I took an intentional,  valuable break from social media, yet with all that is afoot, I wanted to reach out and see how you are doing!

This situation has mushroomed quickly, as only in the last couple of weeks the Coronavirus was a quiet buzz in the periphery of our awareness. In the past 2 days, all that has changed. Globally, we are just beginning to grasp the impact of this situation.

That impact goes far beyond what it may be if we, or those we love, were to actually come down with Coronavirus. For most of us, with healthy immune systems, my understanding is that symptoms will be quite mild, relatively speaking. Yet, for those who have compromised health issues, it can be  a concern, so added diligence is of course needed. If it helps, however, I have two friends in their 70’s who contracted the virus last month. Apparently, it was like an intense flu with a fever for about a month, yet, with their natural self-care and tons of rest, they are feeling good and healthy once more. So, that is most encouraging! It isn’t all gloom and doom.

I know many of us are already feeling the economic impact as gigs, events, and tours have been canceled, along with countless businesses crashing and people losing jobs.

We are feeling the impact as travel plans and weddings are getting cancelled, as “social distancing” becomes part of our vocabulary, as quarantines are widespread, and as locally, and in the US, whole states are closing schools indefinitely. Never before have we had such a widespread panic over a virus, at least not to this extent. So, what can you and I do about it?

Of course, it’s natural to feel afraid. Yet, I strongly encourage you to not obsess about or feed the fear. Rather… Take mindful control of it by first choosing what you are and are not willing to believe,  listen too, read, and absorb. Many of the standard news sources are notorious for drumming the fear frenzy! Remember, it is within our control to decide how we choose to respond to the info presented.

As a mother, musician, and life, health and wellness coach, I am taking a stand for maintaining balance and empowered well-being. Please join me! We may not be able to reduce the stressors that are coming at us from all directions, but what we CAN do is continue to increase our resilience factor. Right?

Let’s choose what to engage with, and concentrate on the things within our control and let go of the rest. Let’s focus on using this unpredictable time to focus on boosting our immunity, bumping up our health and ability to ride the waves.

Remember too, that we can cultivate positive emotions through appreciating what we have. Laugh, sing, write, move, play an instrument. Engage in things that bring a sense of peace and joy, despite the widespread fear.

Now more than ever is the time to connect and engage together (online) in the ways that are natural to each of us, rather than isolate and separate.

Stay strong!

In the light of love, 💜
