Tip #2 – Part 3: Less Inflammation, More Alkalinity

Continuing on the path of creating an internal environment that supports healing, here are some of my favorite immune-boosting herbs also recommended by one of my mentors, Functional Medicine Alliance founder Andrea Nakayama. Experiment with the following:

Turmeric contains the most active compound curcumin that is a potent anti-inflammatory and antioxidant. Soothes and calms, fights infection, and helps improve symptoms of depression and arthritis.

Black elderberry is packed with antioxidants and vitamins, which boost the immune system, tame inflammation, lessen stress, and help protect your heart, too.

Herbal adaptogens build the body’s resistance to stress, pathogens, viruses, and bacteria.

Coptis extract promotes a healthy microbial environment, which in turn supports immunity.

Echinacea increases the number of white blood cells, which fight infections and boost the immune system.

Ginger is a strong antioxidant and anti-inflammatory that has been shown to naturally boost the immune system. Helps kill cold viruses and combat chills and fever. Eat it raw, in a salad, tea, paste or baking.

Lots of love! 💜
